The
work with the Elderly
|
|
|
The
Catholic Bishop's Conference of Thailand has assigned the Commission
to prepare a formation of a Catholic Commission for the Elders since
March,2002, which will be charge of this work with the following
objectives.
|
|
|
1.
|
Provide
pastoral care of the elderly by organising groups of the elderly
in different parishes (provide necessary support to existing groups
of the elderly in parishes; and support organisation of the elderly
in parishes where there are no such groups).
|
|
2.
|
Support
the elderly to participate in the work of the Church.
|
|
3.
|
Promote
younger generations to express their gratitude to the elderly according
to Thai cultures and traditions.
|
|
4.
|
Foster
the elderly to meet regularly and share their experience with one
another and to younger generations.
|
|
5.
|
Support
the elders to gain knowledge on proper healthcare and to be happy.
|
